Who can you encourage today?
Today, while I was out walking the dog, I ran into an occasional dog acquaintance. When I first met her, she was working out of her home and had a relatively flexible schedule. I would see her a couple of mornings a week. Then she disappeared. Actually, she had transitioned into a “corporate job” and was walking her dogs at 5:30 in the morning, so from my point of view, she had disappeared.
About a month ago, she took a vacation day, and I saw her and the dogs again. We talked for a while and I told her about BouncebackCafe.com (BBC). I saw her again today and what was truly phenomenal was that she had read BBC and LOVED it. It was encouragement, when I truly needed it.

How do your pets enrich your life?
I’ve been looking for a reason to use all these cute animal pictures that I’ve come across while searching for just the right photo for today’s post. At last I’ve found it. Telling you how wonderful it is to have pets.
If you are not a pet owner, the first thing you must understand is that for those of us without human children, our pets are our kids. The second thing you will need to accept is that I’m not exaggerating. My animals are my babies… maybe not the fish, but the four-legged ones are. (Fish look pretty swimming around in the tank, but beyond their beauty, they don’t give much back.)

When I was a kid, many long years ago, I didn’t have very many friends. I went to the Catholic school attached to our parish church, but the church was far enough away that we had a local chapel where the families in our area attended Mass. So, if I wanted to participate in school activities, I had to be dropped off and picked up. My parents were overprotective, my father having been scarred for life by the Lindbergh kidnapping. Seriously, it was an awful incident, but we didn’t have any money and certainly no fame. We just didn’t provide much prospect for fame or fortune for any would be kidnappers.
