Summer is slip-sliding away – last chance to enjoy its simple pleasures!
To lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time.
— John Lubbock
I just enjoyed the last, sweet chunks of a juicy watermelon – YUM! Why I waited so long to enjoy this simple pleasure is beyond me. Chalk it up to being a bit oblivious to the passing of the season. But now that I’ve indulged in this sinfully delicious treat I’ve begun to realize that summer is almost gone and all those perfect watermelons with it.
So I’ve made a new, short term and frivolous resolution: before the season’s treats become only a memory, I’m going to Continue reading » Last Chance to Savor Summer’s Simple Pleasures

Do you ever find yourself staring at bare cupboards when you’re looking for bountifulness?
You must empty a box before you fill it again.
— Irish Sayings
Now surely you’ve known me long enough to know that it’s not likely my cupboards would be or even could literally be bare! Nah, not my cupboards, they’re, what else – cluttered! So we stick to those clothes that fit right because they make us feel the best about ourselves. And sometimes we have to take things back to the store to find the one that fits.

I’ve made a decision. I’m going to be irresponsible – at least for a little while.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just feel stuck. Life goes on day-to-day, some days good, some not so good. The interesting thing is that here I am in the middle of this new blog venture, and yet I’m looking for some major change that will make me feel “better.”
