Wacky Wednesday #26 – Now Where Did I Put That…

This week’s whimsy is one that should be familiar to any fan of reading: where did I leave that photograph, recipe, check, receipt, note or favorite bookmark?  Michael, the proprietor of Popeks Used and Rare Books (we presume that makes him Michael Popek), has made a habit of collecting the items left behind when books come into his possession.  These are often reader’s placeholders, aka bookmarks.  Sometimes they’re inscriptions, or simply things placed under the book’s cover by the owner for later retrieval and then forgotten about.

While the bookmarks can be interesting in and of themselves, sometimes the particular book they’re found in makes them even more intriguing.
