What Next? – Part 2 – Take a Blue-Sky-Break…

Clouds
Continued from Part 1

How can we help ourselves bounce back when there are so many options and too many conflicting decisions to be made? Take a 15 minute Blue-Sky-Break and DayDream!

What would you do if you won the big Kahuna of lotteries??? Forget for a moment that the odds are stacked against you. What would you do with the windfall? Who would you want to share your winnings with? What would you do with your days if you didn’t need to earn a paycheck? If money weren’t an issue, how would you decide whatever question is plaguing you?

And, If You Could Not Fail…

Daydreaming allows you to simultaneously suspend fear and entertain seemingly impossible optimistic possibilities. For a brief and entertaining moment, ask yourself, “If I could not fail what would I do?”

See It. Hear It. Feel It.

Look around you in your daydream, notice your surroundings. Are you inside or outside? What’s the weather like? What’s the ambient temperature? Is the air calm, breezy, windy, balmy?

Listen – what do you hear: Voices? (Of many or only a few? Of adults or children?) The cacophony of traffic or the warbling of birds? The wind in the trees or air conditioning/heating noises? Or perhaps, it’s quiet?

Feel it. Are you: Happy? Excited? Energized? Relaxed? Comfortable? Cacooned? Protected or protecting? Lonely? Fulfilled? Ready?

Observe the Details

What are you doing? Who is with you? What’s going on around you? What matters to you in this scene?

Your answers to all these questions will give focus and scale to your dilemma. You may not know exactly WHAT to do next, but you’ll be a whole lot closer to knowing what you WANT to do.

How Do I Make It So…

Knowing what you want enables you to begin accessing your resilience by asking the HOW question – how can I “make it so” even if I don’t have budget, time, resources. Your mission switches to finding pathways that lead to your goals.

So take a Blue-Sky-Break and let us know what you learn about your dreams.
